I am OK with not running the clock down cause it tells your kicker (who had already missed one) i have 100% confidence you will make this.

You can still have 100% confidence in a kicker and kneel the ball twice. Just because you have 100% confidence in something doesn't mean it's guaranteed to happen.

By not trying to get into the endzone you show you trust your kicker. To mitigate risk...you milk the clock as much as possible.
