If you haven't seen it, you should go in knowing that its basically a peak 80s dumb action/fantasy movie with Kurt Russell playing Han Solo as the lead.

If you're a 10 year old boy in 1988, your childhood is basically incomplete if this isn't one of your 3-4 favorite movies.

For everyone else, its a fun action romp that I certainly recommend watching but its not going to make or break your movie library or anything.

This pretty much, though I was 13 rather than 10. Objectively The Thing is his best film, but Big Trouble in Little China is easily my favorite by him.
