Yes, very common on RPO running plays!!!!!!! This is classic - RPO’s are designed to be passed quickly. Whatever you want to call the route is irrelevant. They’re quick hitters

Wow, I can’t with you.

The very basis of a RPO is that the passing routes are short and easy throws. Neither a 9 or an out are easy short throws. Just because the QB fakes a hand off in shotgun does not make it an RPO. There has to be a viable passing option for it to be a RUN PASS OPTION play.
