I owned an Accord in the 1990’s. It was very attractive and got lots of comments.
The clear coat on the paint failed within the first couple of years.
At 90k miles, the engine would randomly shut down. The diagnosis was that there was carbon buildup in the valves (maybe cylinders is the right term - I’m no mechanic) and the repair was very expensive. The only explanation they had was that I used “bad gas.” I passed on the repair and bought a Toyota.
I realize that my experience was far from ordinary but I haven’t been able to convince myself to buy another Honda.
