Not sure if the bats fly in November, but Old Tunnel state park is neat to watch them fly out in the evening. Very different watching them there vs Austin. Its like a bat tornado as they try to get enough air to clear the trees.

No, it's too late in the year. But it's a nice drive down Old Fred Rd to the park and you can keep going south and hit Comfort. Or you can take FM 473 east to Sisterdale where there is a small winery and a BBQ place across the road. Keep going east on 473 and it's a real nice drive to Blanco where you can hit Real Ale. And just before 473 hits 281 is a brewery called Rough Diamond that I really like. Lots of outdoor seating and good beer.
