There was no YouTube, Netflix, smart phones, internet wasn’t mainstream yet , AOL was the biggest provider. Internet gaming was very niche.

There was also no pandemic.

There were way less entertainment options back then.

Why would this hurt the ratings again? People have less entertainment options for the most part.

The amount of spin you go through trying to prop these numbers up has been entertaining to say the least.
