Not sure if this belongs here of the ticket exchange, but I'm trying desperately to get inauguration tickets and ball tickets for Jan.
Can I only get these through my congressional reps?
Any advice would be appreciated.
*price doesn't matter.

Correct. Tickets for admission to the ceremonies on the West Front of the Capitol will be distributed by Senators, Representatives and the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC). The PIC, a non-profit organization formed by the President-Elect shortly after Election Day, also handles requests for seating along the parade route and attendance at official Inaugural Balls.
The PIC will have a website that will go live sometime after the election. You'll find contact info at that time.
In the meantime, check out the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies for additional information.

I am pursuing some as well and thr notion is these will be tough to get. Scalise's office is the angle I am trying to work. Hotels are outrageous so I am going the air bnb route in Dupont Circle

May be a stupid question - but do you really have to have tickets just to be out on the National Mall during the swearing in?

No, you do not need tickets just to be out there. Keep in mind a lot of the areas are restricted access though. VIP tickets get you a lot closer to view/participate. Otherwise, you'll watch it on the big screens from a distance.
Same for the parade. First come, first serve spots except for bleacher seats close to reviewing stand. Those are tickets only (PIC).

Good to know.
My current Rep's Inauguration Request page is down, though everything else on the site is working. Figures.
