I liked LeBron. Seemed like a good dude and did a ton of great work with kids. Seemed to genuinely care about Cleveland/Akron and want to give back. I still think he's those things. However, he has a MASSIVE following and there's a responsibility that comes with that. Pushing misinformation and false narratives to those followers is "problematic" to use a 2020 term. We can all sit here and pretend like it's no big deal, but his comments lately fuel the hate for police and that hateful mindset makes it more likely for Floyd/Blake/Sterling type situations to happen, not less likely. Not to mention the riots. Does anybody think that rhetoric is going to lead to anything getting better?

There are people who like him even more for his comments and efforts to drive social equality.
Only you idiots consider that "misinformation".

This the dumbest take and the fact it got up votes is frightening.
Is it Lebron comments or people's own personal interactions with police, the thousands of videos since camera phones and body cams became standard, or the government's unwillingness to rein in their henchmen?
The fact is there have been riots and burning buildings over policing well before anyone ever knew who Lebron was.
The US has the police force of a 3rd world, uncivilized country and there is a problem with public servant worship in this country.
Politicians and police work for the people and are well paid, but for some reason mediocre results are not only tolerated they are celebrated by certain segments of the population.
