They don't know to what degree because AI is in control. That's why you put in 2 words in google and something pops up to fill the sentence that was literally in your brain. The machine has learned how to keep you locked in for longer and tickles your biases.

Not everyone has the same brain makeup and some people can turn it off but for many it is a serious problem. We have unleashed something that crawls into people's brains and rots them from the very core as well as destroying friendships and further dividing the human race.

It is a pretty big dilemma
