Kitchenaid/Whirlpool square ice cubes is $2K
Sonic ice from anyone else is North of $3K
All will fail and have trouble over time, even if you descale them regularly.
First one was a GE Profile that lasted 10 years, which I replaced parts on 4-5 times.
New one is the Kitchenaid, same ice. We'll see how long it lasts. New Orleans hard water is murder on these ice machines, commercial grade or otherwise.
