We use the wider painters tape, the 2.5-3 inch wide stuff, and tape the floor, next to the wall, and then she uses a thick sheet of foamboard/posterboard and lays that down instead of using a dropcloth. The small Graco doesn't have much overspray, and she just puts that down right below or beside what she is spraying and it catches it all. It puts out a really fine mist, and she typically sprays in one direction, side to side, and then comes back up/down on the next pass. She also uses Flotrol mixed in with the paint and it helps the tip not to clog up and gives an even spray.
