I saw Foxes as a kid on VHS - so maybe I was too unaware of exploitation but it seemed more tame which came later...the movie Kids.
Plus, those two movies you mentioned don't seem to be in the same boat - they were older actors playing rebellious teenagers...it's been done a million times. They weren't children twerking for creepos.
Jodie Foster was 18 years old in that movie. (Foxes)
Kristy McNichol was 18 years old. (Little Darlings)
Those movies were about portraying teenagers with adult actors.
This is about children. There's no comparison.

Cuties is unquestionably about sexually exploiting children.
While other movies have dealt with young prostitutes ( Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver, Brooke Shields in Pretty Baby ) this movie clearly is driven to normalize 11 yr olds twerking and engaging in provocative dance moves, as a part of 'coming of age ' for young girls.
Bitch, please. No one is buyin' it, and it's clear by the reaction it's getting.
