Government backed student loans were a bad idea that helped cascade tuition prices out of control and create a bonafide crisis.
Once again, something our government does to level the playing field that sounds good on paper carries unexpected consequences, and now people graduating school are saddled with debt that forces them to put just about everything on hold until they can get out from under it.

I would blame the college administrators more than anyone. They are the main cause of all the "needed expenses" they don't all need to make more than 250k to pretty much do nothing. The great thing about covid is will cut a lot of those worthless pos out.
