Who in BR or any other college town in the South gets more respect than a football player/star?

Why would a person like Floyd or Blake deserve respect? What is an intelligent person to think when he sees thugs, no matter the color, be made into heros, while their victims are trashed.
What did Blake's Aunt say about her nephew?
Is she a racist?
Respect is earned not granted.
I see past running back that abused women, still has respect by some posters. Did he earn that respect?
