It always makes me chuckle at the hypocrisy of those who scream and yell that the "players need to be paid"...only to then turn around and feign indignation when we find out they actually did get paid...quite a bit...albeit "under the table". You know who doesn't want the player to "get paid" by the schools? THE GREAT PLAYERS! They would be taken huge paycuts if LSU had to pay them vs. "boosters"

As far as Wade is concerned, I think it would be incredibly naive to think he did not arrange payments to players. That's simply how high level basketball recruiting works at EVERY power conf. school. Only the wholly naive and/or willfully disingenuous dipshits on here believe otherwise. In fact, at least Wade seems to be getting a pretty good ROI. Johnny Jones paid for players as well and had exactly one NCAAT appearance to show for it in 5 years along with the worst season in 20+ years.

The question is and has ALWAYS been whether or not there is any evidence of payment other than the wiretap statements. No question those statements are not good. But without anything else, it seems like it may be pretty difficult to "throw the book" at Wade/LSU.

There very well may be much, much more than what we have heard thus far. But I do think it is somewhat telling that with an ever present media desperately looking for anything to stir up a story there hasn't been any additional information other than the wiretaps...which everyone has known about for over a year.
