I'm in an area that is predominantly gumbo and clay. I've found a 4 pound hammer with 3/16 plate welded to it makes a mean digging tool. Its a pain at first but now I'm faster with longs than I am with coil.

I used to love Hiawatha valley bait or just some extra bobcat or beaver chunk. Violator 7 was my favorite but used a lot of plain castor as well. I love a good dirt hole but when possible love blind setting. Had a couple trails where one trap would pull 5 or 6 yotes/cats a week.
