The 4 shots of Lidocaine around the 3 toes with the fungus was one of the worse pains I’ve ever felt in my life.
Lol I did avulsions on 11 and 13 year old girls yesterday afternoon and they didn't even flinch while numbing the toes.

He gave me some anti bacterial medicine, anti fungus medicine, Percocet and some other stuff for the pain. It’s still all wrapped up super tight right now from the doctor, but when I shower before work tomorrow morning I have to take the wrapping off and lather the toes up with neosporin and bandaids.
I didn’t get the doctor to kill the nail follicles, so they will grow back eventually.
I'm sure your doctor discussed the options with you, but the chances your nails come back the same or worse than before is nearly 100%.
Did he give you a topical antifungal? Those are anywhere from 15-30% effective and take up to a year to see any results. Also, if your nails were so deformed that they required removal the chances they will change their appearance is basically 0%.
Also, the toes will want to drain some the first few days. Our practice has found that dressing with gauze instead of bandaids prevents the drainage from backing up which causes more pain.
