If we did away with the match and put it 100% on the employees their percent would have to go up so you’d likely have to raise their wages by that amount to compensate. At the end of the day that amount gets paid. So doing away with the match wouldn’t do you any good because instead of paying the government what you’ve been paying you’d pay the employee who would then in turn pay the government.

Employees would then realize how much taxes are actually paid to the government and how much actually gets wasted.
