Used my whole house generator for 10 days after Katrina. Everyone was screwing with me when I built my house and wired it from the start to accommodate a transfer switch. They weren't screwing with me after the storm.

I hear you...it's just a joke that we have with my friends that once you bite the bullet and spend the money on a whole home generator you'll never need it.......
