I just realized how slow Marco's supposed to be after making landfall

24 hours after landfall in southeast/south central Louisiana... it;s just getting to the LA/TX border

11pm has Marco trending south and Laura trending East.

So Marco is expected to make a westerly turn.

Why?

And if it does take a western turn, why is Laura not doing the same thing? They’re going to be 48 hours apart. When Marco turns, that tells me that the ridge is pushing west as well. Why is Laura turning INTO the ridge? Lows dislike Highs, correct?
