Point taken..
I can see that...still like getting my package in the mail and looking at the tickets to see the different players and stuff on the tickets...

But you make a good point..

The article on this topic states that ticket holders without a smart phone can reach out for other options.

How did that work out for playoff tickets....???

Or getting The souvenir tickets...
Some of us base opinions on past experiences .

But yes they did and yes I will drop by the ticket office next time I am in town and over that way...

Well, playoff tickets were managed by a completely separate entity, so not really fair to judge LSU’s 2020 plan to the CFP’s approach.

No, the CFP was the “boss.” LSU wasn’t in charge of ticketing in any capacity. This is like blaming LSU for its handling of away game ticket policies.

So my ticket stub collection from every game I’ve been to since 1965 ended with the 2019 season. I’m good with that.

If you click on the faq and go to Tix forwarding:

"Important Notes: A ticket can only be forwarded once. Forwarded tickets cannot be forwarded again."

So-if you "sub" tickets from someone, if you share tickets with a friend or family member, if you have corporate tickets you give to customers-think about how you have handled the physical tickets in the past-will ONE TRANSFER work?

Some people, including myself, have purchased tickets to make sure they get in, and then upgrade to better seats.

If only one ticket transfer is allowed, this, among other scenarios, will not be able to happen.

What if you have every intention on going to all the games and life gets in the way? You can't resell the electronic ticket to someone else?

LSU needs to rethink this.

I'm still torn because there are definite positives and negatives to this. My issues with mobile/electronic tickets are:

1) Cell phone service sucks on campus on gamedays. It's going to be interesting to see how many people are going to have problems transferring tickets and pulling them up online to get in the gate. You can take a screenshot of the ticket, though, which brings me to my next isssue.

2) The amount of fake tickets will still be prevalent. If you can take a screenshot of the ticket/barcode, I would be worried about getting/buying a ticket that has already been scanned. I guess you can always have the seller walk up to the gate with you to ensure you get in.

3) You better have an external battery or keep your phone charged, especially if it's a night game. I would hate for my phone to die and not be able to get in because of that.

Is it one transfer per ticket, or is it saying that once I forward a ticket, I can no longer forward it to someone else.

I understand the need to go to this because of COVID and also things were moving towards this before. There is something though about the sentimental value of that ticket. I still have my stub from the Earthquake game. I also have tickets saved from every concert I attended except for the one that only used digital tickets.
I also think though that with them going digital now you have to transfer your ticket through them and gives them to option to add a "transfer" charge.

“ I still have my stub from the Earthquake game.“

Sweet!!!!

I have the tickets Framed from when my wife and I were in college and got engaged...

It is not the difficulty of electronic tickets.. even us old guys can handle that... but getting that book each year was fun and looking at the graphics on each ticket and getting pumped is/was fun...

As op said ...lsu said they have options...I will drop by the ticket office and see what they are... they are very nice there and always do try to Help... I actually enjoy going there and in past always picked them up there when in town at will call...

And on a lesser more personal note, I've been going to games for 31 years and keep every stub from every game I attend. Lots of them I have framed. Guess that tradition is dead.

I'm admittedly sentimental about ticket stubs; this fricking sucks.

I bought a mobile ticket two years ago to an LSU game, don't rmember which one. I received it via email. I was unable to attend the game, so I simply emailed it to someone else who put it on their phone and went to the game. No problem.

I can’t imagine there will be a charge to transfer a ticket from person to person

If you mean to sell it to someone else, yes, they do. They aren't partnered with Stubhub out of charity.

Now, giving your tickets to a buddy, you should be able to just e-mail them the tickets with the QR codes. I've done that for baseball.

The option will probably be a “Will Call” line where a ticket office rep scans you in on her smart phone.

Or some other bull shite.

This is bull shite.

ETA: and what tech stops you from sending a scanable screenshot of your ticket?
