You will find Baptist churches that no longer are SBC churches, having chosen to withdraw from the convention when the beliefs of the congregation changed with the beliefs of the SBC

Did the SBC get to liberal for them?

There can be a number of reasons, many of them bordering on ridiculous. Congregations can say whatever they want, but to remain a SBC affiliated congregation, they must adhere in belief with the SBC Statement of belief, which seldom/rarely/never changes more than a comma or adjective. Today's SBC Belief statement is pretty much the same as it was 90 years ago.

The big disagreement for a while was a congregation voting to call a woman to pastor a congregation. I have no idea if that belief (against) will ever change, but I am too smart to say never.

Right or wrong, I have referred to some congregations as "Cinderblock Baptist" The ones I see as that type are very conservative. They probably saw Paul as a blatant liberal (LOL)
