think COVID has really shown most people how completely ridiculous the notion of "arse in seat" really is.
Eh my company waited until the last minute and had sales reps in the office before the stay at home was lifted. They brought back everyone ASAP. Even those who produced during the whole thing, they nagged into coming to the office. We've had several cases and my job is 100% in front of customers or on my computer. it's been toxic to be honest but I am in an old school industry
The thing is, no one batted an eye when I wouldn't be in the office for days at a time before.
My wife’s company sent an email saying by 2021 they are going to cut office space and it can save up to 11k per employee that is WFH. They are already recruiting talent from out of state.

The number of remote job opportunities in my field has trippled.
My wife and I have considered relocating at some point in the future and I searched for my job in that particular market the other day.
75% of them were WFH jobs in New York, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, none of which are anywhere near this area. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues.

My husband and I have had the same experience but it is my company forcing everyone back and his company is trying to convince everyone to wfh forever.
