I don't disagree with you that people should wash their cloth masks or replace disposable masks frequently. But, in my opinion, having any sort of barrier between your nose and mouth and mine is better than nothing. So until a study comes out saying it's not better than nothing, I'm going to agree that people should wear masks in public or when in close proximity to others.

Maybe it's because I have worn a mask all day long one day per week as part of my profession, but I really don't understand why people make such a big deal about this. Since this began, I've worn a mask all day everyday I work, so I don't potentially spread this disease to my patients. But people bitch and complain about wearing a mask for 10 minutes while they go get groceries.

I have no problem with businesses requiring certain attire and people choosing which businesses to patronize. I also am wearing a mask when I grocery shop or walk into a restaurant or whatever.

I do have a problem with the federal government mandating attire and suspending rights based on very debatable science and state governments choosing which businesses and municipalities can and cannot operate or introducing criminal penalties for refusing to comply with random orders based on nothing but worries about federal funding.

And I have many problems with executive branches throwing decrees around with no legislative oversight and any pushback or discussion about this decrees met with the appeal to authority or appeal to ignorance fallacy or worse “just accept it or you want people to die” bullshite.
