Tuesday Updated :

I wish that I had a better report.

We teed off at 7:30 this morning and everyone but one guy was cordial and I told him to knock it off, we want a fresh start.

Anyway, we started off well enough and our Guy even birdied #2, then the wheels came off his round.

He started badly topping the ball for about 4 holes before getting out of it.

He was well on his way to a high 90's round and he was very tense all day and I am sure that led to the topping.

On number 17, that has water down the left by the green, he pulled his approach shot into the water. He then took his bag off the cart and walked in and left.

He didn't say a word to anyone. I tried to call him and he didn't answer.

Where does this stand now ? I am not sure.

I will continue to send him the email invites, but he might be done for a while and I hate that since we all know how hard it is to get 8 guys every week to play since it is getting hot.

That’s some childish behavior right there. I haven’t been playing long, but I know not to do that. Every now and then I’ll pick up my ball if I’m having a really bad hole (never when playing for money), but I always finish the round.

I feel like what he did is the adult version of a temper tantrum when you take away a kids toy.

Unfortunate situation for you.

Have y’all tried playing not for money a few rounds and see if he cuts it out?

He is probably topping it because he isn't used to hitting it where it lies. I am sure that led to pressing and worse play.

Agree on how hard it is to get a consistent group going. If he comes back things will probably be better than ever. Guys usually get stronger after a fight women grudge forever.

Sounds like he knows he is in the wrong and tried to play by the rules. He sucked and decided that he would rather quit than suck it up and finish the round. I would reach out to him like you said you did and move on if he doesn’t reach back out.
