Hollywood's been moving away from Polanski (finally) over the past couple of decades. I think The Pianist was his last big film backed by a Hollywood studio. He's been doing stuff for European companies since then. And they stopped having him pop up in American films in cameos. I think Rush Hour 3 was his only pop-in for an American film in the past 20 years.

Though it was (semi) historical, he was portrayed in a pretty prominent and romanticized role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood just last year.
