I can’t help you but am interested in this farm duck thing. So you buy a duck and it doesn’t fly away? Are it’s wings clipped or do you buy it as a baby and raise it there so it doesn’t want to leave? I have some friends that live on a river in the area and was just curious if they could have ducks on the property as well.

I live on a ditch pond with a creek on the other side so if she wanted to bolt, she easily could. The ducks I listed above probably can’t “fly” because they are too heavy (They flap, but typically don’t or can’t fly). In short, if you are feeding them (corn or cracked corn for me), then they aren’t going anywhere. The Swedish black / blue females have a great disposition. Additionally, the cold weather doesn’t really bother them much. Good luck!
