Most decent sealers have 10yr warranty.
Natural stone-
Timeless
Lasts forever
Better polish
More maintenance
Stains without a good sealer
Quartz-
Who knows how long the trend will last
Looks plastic
Can’t handle heat or UV light (turns white quartz yellow)
No sealing/less maintenance
If anyone tells you quartz doesn’t stain draw all over it with a sharpie and let it sit overnight and let me know what happens
Nothing is perfect, but aesthetics matter.
IMO quartz is a basic building material. There’s a reason it goes in every home on the HGTV flip shows and that’s not because it’s a sought after material. It is mostly marketing. Building a custom kitchen spending well into the 5 figures and putting quartz on the counter to me is like building a million dollar home and filling it with ikea furniture.

In 10 years, people will have the same attitude about quartz as they do about builder grade granite currently.

This is my biggest complaint with these women and selecting “trendy” materials they see on HGTV. People put these things in “flip houses” because they look presentable and are CHEAP.
Janky, what’s the issue with Dolomite? Marble, Dolomite, Quartzite, and Granite are all natural stones and resistant to the heat. You think the dolomite would be too soft?
