I remember listening to that game on the radio. I could barely hear her saying the card was so loud. USC was fortunate to win that game. However, in truth, LSU was fortunate that it was even that close. I’m pretty sure USC had about 390 total yards and LSU about 270. I think LSU recovered two of five fumbles. LSU played their hearts out. Definitely the most memorable game for me

Turnovers kept the Tigers in that game, but overall the defense ....and crowd helped to keep SC off balance. What I could not understand is why Cholly Mac abandoned the three wide outs. The few times he used thst formation, good things happened.
I knew a lawyer who was on that SC team as a reserve LB who said that not only was it loud , he had never seen the team so beat up and worn out after a game. There were a lot of dehydrated kids from California in the visitor's locker room after that game as well.
