So what are we to believe? That your company actually thinks a 21 year old kid, with no work experience, has realistic expectations for minimum salary requirements? Or that the hiring managers know they have access to labor at artificially suppressed rates?
Since you've already attested to using H1B's "quite frequently", my gut tells me it's the latter.

They should absolutely educate themselves....the salary guides for many industries are widely available for free.

Again if you think the system is "artificially" suppressing the rates let's talk about how to fix it....not just complain about it. Hell I'd probably get a raise myself.
