I would say there is no such thing as a second-generation immigrant. There are immigrants and second generation Americans.
My mother was an immigrant, so I am second-generation on my maternal side. I am not an immigrant but I will gladly accept your cash, checks or other renumerations.

This. Most children of immigrants refer to themselves as "first generation Americans" because they're proud of this fact.
