Comically enough the nursing staff was wearing an n95 with a cloth mask over it and a face shield. The face shield was tilted above their head and the masks were below their nose. They also removed their gloves to start my wife's IV, which I would think is an issue regardless of covid.
There are idiots in every profession. You would think nurses would know how to wear PPE but we are still having to correct them.
The masks over the N95 is a way to extend use of the N95 btw. You change out the surgical masks over the N95 between patients but can wear the same N95. For us...once they take it off (say for a break or whatever during their shift) we have a process to UV light their masks....they put that mask into a bag for processing and then grab another of their already UV lighted masks in storage for them on their unit. We will UV light a mask 5 times and then throw away.
