Not a very good detail to base the categorizing of a snake as venomous. Many non-venomous snakes can "flatten" their heads to look exactly like the "diamond shape". They do this in a defense mechanism, like when they feel threatened, like when a big ole bad human is trying to figure out what kind of snake they are wanting to kill.

"Many" hahaha you mean like two. One is from europe and the other is a water snake. A big diamond shaped head is pretty telling compared to a flatten version that doesn't even touch the stockiness.

There are actually 2 ways this can be accomplished, 1) ask the snake nicely to roll over and let you look, 2) you can look after he's dead.

1 it probably wouldn't comply 2 i wouldn't want to kill a non poisonous snake.
