I knock glock pretty hard because of the fanbios talking up a 500.00 pistol as awesome then put 1500.00 worth of upgrades to get them to run but they are solid starter pistols. Glocks are solid for life and fire true straight out of the box. I've owned at least one for the past 30 years.

Personally, my fave is my Walther PPQ M2 // but like my Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 - also have Springfield Armory XD-S but don't fire it as much.
