Yeah that's a good ancillary question. Would seem to go to motive/intent.
What the hell was Chauvin waiting for and looking at? You sometimes see that type of thing if there's a multi-arrestee situation wherein the other available officers are busy or in the process of gaining control over their own arrestee. In that situation Chauvin would sit tight for a short while until the situation's completely under control. Then officers determine which arrestee will go into which vehicle, etc.
None of which was involved, from what I've seen.
