PS3 bit the dust...

Locks up and screen goes black. Just started the process with customer service. Anybody else had the same issue? If so how long does it usually take to get the system back after you send it in?

I sometimes leave my on for hours, and it works great, I'm so glad I didn't go with xbox

ha ha...yes it would...already went through that...twice with my xbox. But Customer service with Microsoft was pretty good with the turnaround.

Can you send a PS3 back if it's been open...I'm willing to pay I have a 60Gb and a 40Gb my son tried to doctor the 60gb with me knowing...

I have to send mine back for repair. With the warranty, they'll repair it for free but if they can't repair it they send you a brand new one.

Not always. They sometimes send a factory refurbished one. I just sent mine back for warranty repair on the blu-ray drive and they sent me the box and paid for everything. From the day I called, to the day I got it back was about 15 total.
