the big10 has some journalism giants, and they really do fill the rolls at the major networks and national newspapers

and this isn't an, "ESPN HATES LSU" rant. it is just shitty to listen to the typical condescending attitude and defense of the big10/notre dame. it goes beyond CFB, but you see it biggest in CFB

*ETA: this comment is inspired by this CFN discussion: Is the Big10 That Bad?

Teddy Greenstein:

quote:

The disparity at the top of the leagues is not as great as the chicken-fried-steak crowd thinks it is.

Attended: Northwestern University

you will constantly see the same snide comments all over the major networks, especially toward the end of the CFB season

just go look at the big talking heads/writers across the country and you will see so many northwestern, michigan, notre dame, etc grads it isn't funny

UGA has an excellent journalism school - it produced Lewis Grizzard.

i may be ignorant, but how many writers for big market papers or analysts/studio people for big networks come from UF or UGA (and i'm limiting this to just sports reporting)

woody page is a big name and he went to UT. bayless went to Vandy. that's all i can think of off the top of my head (not counting former players who get analyst roles due to their playing, not writing)

rolls like election rolls, payrolls, etc. a list/roster

quote:

1 a (1): a written document that may be rolled up : scroll; specifically : a document containing an official or formal record <the rolls of parliament> (2): a manuscript book b: a list of names or related items : catalog c: an official list

*ETA: i admit when i frick up word usage. i don't mean to sound condescending...the big10 writers just inspired me

oh yeah this reminds me of a thread i was going to make on the rant last week

in TSN's national CFB preview it says that KW has major fumbling issues

if you don't believe that CFB writers just steal shite they read on message boards, you need no other proof

they could've just stole it from Miles' post spring game comments. i'm sure thats a huge part of what they look at.

yeah, 12gauge, murphy may be the first guy with a youtube of highlights from a spring game.

Did you notice in that clip, the first run was a long run around the edge and then the second was that same run from just a different angle?
