re: So for being bored sake, if Ryan Perriloux kept it together at LSU

Ryan and I played against each other in high school and I got to know him fairly well. No one loved RP more than RP loved himself. He was no doubt the most naturally talented player I ever saw in high school. Had he stuck around for those last two years, I seriously believe he could have been a high round pick. His work ethic and commitment to his teammates left a lot to be desired. He believed he was untouchable and it came back to bite him.

This is how I remember the vibe around it being. Everyone involved just being like, “dude, enough.”

Sports Illustrated I think did a story on the fall of Perrilloux. They were talking about the 2007 championship season and had his mom quoted in the article too. After the national championship game win over Ohio State, he cried because he didn’t get to play as much as he thought he should have after playing and winning the SEC Championship Game.
That sums up what “team” meant to Perrilloux. Can’t believe there was no one in his life that could give him perspective and some common sense. He was also the only player to no show or miss the first team meeting after the championship win in January. Dude was unreal cancer
