re: Lots of people dont know how to cast a baitcaster

I’m very accurate with a baitcaster and would rather toss a gold spoon for reds than any other kind of fishing, but when fishing trout under a cork I’m using a spinning reel every time. Can’t throw a baitcaster with a cork and don’t know why anyone would want to.
But years ago I went on a 3 day Chandeleur Islands trip with a bunch of north La. guys, and they all threw a cork with a baitcaster for trout. No spinning reels at all for them. I found that odd.
