Ruby Rose is a good actor but she just did not have the forceful presence and intimidating aura that you would expect from a member of the Bat family.

I'm not going to debate your opinion on Ruby Rose's acting because, honestly, this is really the only thing I've seen her in (so my opinion of her ability is not high). That said, I do agree with you that she absolutely does not pull of the character.

There are a lot of actresses I think could pull of the personality of the character, though how many would be willing to take on a full time role on a CW show, I couldn't tell you. Probably not many.

Saw this though, and it gives me hope.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz has already hinted that she would be up for the part

Beatriz could absolutely do the role, and 1000x better IMHO.

The same article gave this as a possible reason for her leaving:

quote:

According to them: "Doing a network drama is one of the hardest acting jobs, and not everyone is well equipped to handle the intensity and long hours involved. I hear Rose, whose most extensive previous TV gig was a nine-episode arc on Orange Is the New Black, was not happy, and the show’s team was not happy to a point where no one could see this going for another season. It was not a good fit, and the studio and the star opted to part ways."

Well good luck to her. This could have been her iconic role that she would always be remembered for. Unfortunately for her, I don’t think there is much work to be had for a tatted-up non-binary lesbian who can barely act.

Stephanie Beatriz saying that she wants to do it is kind of messed up. Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been picked up for another year with NBC saying that they want to make it a comedy cornerstone. It’s an ensemble but she’s always in the A or B storyline. It’s not like she would leave it for a film career. She would leave it for a show on the fifth highest network of the five over the air networks, for a show which averages probably 700,000 to 800,000 less viewers than the show she is on now
