Didn't really dig into their UFAs, but their draft record was unimpressive at CB or S between the Vikings taking Brad Edwards in the 2nd round of the 1988 draft and (notwithstanding a couple of late round picks, Lee Wiggins and Arturo Freeman) and, say, 2002 - when they really kicked off:

2002 draft - Sheldon Brown and Andre Goodman (that's like 1000 tackles and almost 50 INTs combined) - now how many of those snaps were in this period of discussion, I can't say.

...then a few more picks who didn't play much until Dunta Robinson (originally Texans), another ~600 tackles and 17 INTs. Ko Simpson and Johnathan Joseph were in the same draft (2006) - Joseph just needs to defend 10 passes this upcoming season to be the NFL career leader.

They've only had 6 (notably Captain Munnerlyn, 2009 Carolina, most recently with Buffalo), over the past 11 or 12 drafts, but They've had a few guys with really long, productive careers at the position - more than I would have thought without this thread prompting me to dig into it a little bit.

Stephen Gilmore has been one of the best DBs in the NFL this decade. He's probably got a ton of those snaps
