Standard hospital care should be amended to include outdoor sunshine therapy whenever possible. Would probably help increase recovery times by at least 20%.

5000 IU is plenty for D3. Not sure why one would need 8000 or more.

Yep.
Even decent chicken slaughter houses allow some natural sunlight.
