Our overall record since 2000, 20 seasons now, is remarkable comparable to our history. Since 2000, we are 212-59, which is good for a 78.2% winning percentage. Now, we've historically been good wining at a mid 60s% clip, but a winning percentage just under 80% is elite, and we are averaging that for a 20 year clip now and through three head coaches.
Also, our bowl winning percentage since 2000 is at 67%, with two wins this year, to get us to a 14-7 record for this period. I think this is elite as well. FYI, often overlooked in the Les Miles era is his remarkable bowl performances in his first four years, with us winning four straight (including 2 Sugar Bowls) by an average of over 28 points per game. Coach O has now started 4-1 in bowls, with the most dominant three bowls we may have ever played in the last three, given the competition.
Also, winning 5 outright SEC titles and playing for a sixth in this time period is incredible as well.
So, I'd say we were historically a nice program, with an era of greatness from 1958 to 1973, but other than that, we were just that, pretty nice.
We have taken it to another level for the last 20 years.
