I ran into one of McFarland's Lufkin football coaches yesterday at Sea World in San Antonio. He said that there is really no clear favorite at this point, but he said that we "made a great impression during his visit to BR" and that he "really loved the people and the campus." He also reiterated how great of a kid JM is, and how lucky either LSU, OU or UT will be to have him. No major news, but it was great to hear from a guy so close to the
situation.

I ran into McFarland's first grade teacher at a convention in Seattle. She also said that we made a great impression on him, too. I ran into his mechanic, too, at Disneyland. We had a great visit about McFarland and our chances of landing him. In fact, everyone who knows McFarland now wears a "I know Jamarcus McFarland" tee-shirt so they are really easy to spot in a crowded public place.

It's posts like these that make me do a double take, to make sure I'm on the Recruiting Board and not the Rant.

Probably what actually happened is that TigerFan was sporting LSU gear and JMc's coach saw him and ran up to him wanting to give him an exclusive update. Coach just wanted to feel important to all us Ranters!

This is the SEC not the Big Tin. Football is a way of life and recruiting is year round.

Quite simple, down south we arent scared to start conversations with strangers.

He might have seen the coach with a Lufkin High polo on and said "you coach at Lufkin? send McFarland our way!" and they happen to start talking football. Guys down here are always down to talk a little football.

The Woodlands

I really have enjoyed my time on this site. I don't know what I'd do at work without it now
