I've never said anything negative about them - but their love of high gas prices and shouting down those celebrating low gas prices is tiresome and comes across as very selfish.

I would imagine that's part of the stigma.

I'd bet most hotel managers, car dealers and home builders don't enjoy rock bottom prices in their industries either

Show me an O&G worker who lives within his means and saves a ton because he recognizes the never ending boom and bust of the market and I will applaud him.

Show me a dude who buys a house, F250, travel ball, six kids lifestyle going into debt and living check to check who whines every time the bottom drops out of oil and I will throw shade on him.
