Thank you for seeing that the game was not as one sided as the media made it. I myself rewatched the game 2 weeks ago for the 1st time. It was difficult for me to fathom how OSU, who didn't have a history of making dumb plays in 2007, made so many questionable decisions.

I thought the game had several surges back and forth. LSU fans remember tOSU getting up very quickly. In the run up to the game, I thought LSU had won at the announcement ceremony. The famous picture of our guys jumping up (they actually jumped up at UGA being announced for the Sugar Bowl) was a point of emphasis for me all month. I showed the picture to my wife and said "After Arkansas, and the whole Michigan debacle, now that we're surprisingly in the big game, this team is going to stomp a hole in Ohio State." Conversely, I could imagine the OSU players and coaches saying, "Damn, another loaded SEC team, chompin' at the bit to get at us."

That first 5 minutes kind of negated all of that, and some people thought that there was a rout in the making. I thought that OSU played well, but uncharacteristically undisciplined and wild at times. I don't know if the staff actively cultivated that to kind of shake things up, and if so, that was a mistake. OSU played better than I thought they would, but so did LSU. It was a great football game.
