As far as college/LSU goes there’s no discussion or debate; it’s Maravich all the way.
The debate comes in when we’re talking about NBA career. As far as Maravich goes, people tend to dismiss his NBA career. But his NBA career was pretty stellar, it was just cut short. The dude averaged 25 points per game career average. He only got to play 10 years due to injuries.
But we can’t deny what Shaq did in the NBA not only as an individual performer, but the championships on top of everything. I think on the whole Shaq probably had the most decorated NBA career followed my Petit and Maravich. But Pete is the greatest college player that there ever was and that there ever will be.
