Dude move. Whether its living in an rv or a long commute, this is an opportunity to permanently improve your life. After 2 years, you will have experience at a whole other pay scale that sets you up for other opportunities later in life, as well as varied expertise.

Anyone can do anything for two years. Worst case you hate it and move on to better things afterward. As far as loyalty to your existing company, no one expects anyone to work for them forever. You’ve given them 7 years good in you. Now its time for you to move one. Loyalty is not sacrificing yourself for someone elses benefit. Thats you not taking care of yourself and future family.

This is a no brainer. Dont be naive.

I posted a construction manager/PM opening last year on all the major job seeking sites. I got a ton of resumes but very few were what I was looking for (commercial construction experience). You know what the vast majority of the resumes were?

engineers at big firms (Shaw/CGI/turner/CSRS/etc) looking fo move out of their rut.
