How you can believe printing a name on a check that's already written via printing machine would take any longer?

Well, it does "take longer" according to the article because they had to do some additional programming. It would have taken longer if they decided to put S.W.A.K. on the back of the envelope, too.
That doesn't mean that this lead to a delay.
