When do airlines typically update their flight schedules?

The first of the month or whenever they feel like it?

I'm hoping they keep chopping flights when we get into May so I can get a refund instead of a voucher. Flights to Hawaii are slashed for April and we're in line to get cut if they continue that trend when May rolls around.
